Adult Sunday Classes (8:30am):
Class 1: (Ongoing) "The Book of Luke: Good News From The Doctor"
This class is currenly being offered and is taught by Dr. Vince Duenas. Class meets in Rm. 4 in the CE/Ministry Bldg.
Course Description: A study through the Biblical book of Luke on the life of Jesus as recorded by his follower Dr. Luke. With the probing tests and diagnostic skills that a doctor examines his patients, and prescribes treatments...Luke sought and found the truth as he wrote, "Having carefully investigated all of these accounts from the beginning, I have decided to write a careful summary for you, to reassure you of the truth of all you were taught" (1:3-4). He wrote this book to point his readers to the Truth - Jesus Christ. Luke answers the question: "Who is Jesus?" with real life accounts through a journey of the life and teachings of Jesus.
Come join a modern day Doctor as he leads this class in an examination of the Scriptures to discover for yourself the Good News that Jesus has to say to you and can change your life forever!
Class 2: (BEGINS JAN. 18TH) "Big 5" - A Study of Major Themes of the Pentateuch
The first five books of the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy). Class will be taught by Dr. Dave Owen, President of PIBC.
Course Description: The first 5 books of the Bible introduce us to all the major teachings of scripture. They provide the foundation for a proper understanding of the rest of the Bible. In fact, you cannot really understand what Jesus said and did without understanding the teachings and messages of the five books of Moses. In this class we will look at the basic messages of each of these books and discuss how their important teachings fit in with the whole message of the Bile. Come prepared to think, be stretched and let these ancient books change your life right now.
Both classes will conclude on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2009. If you are interested in attending either class, sign-up sheets are available in the Church lobby or you may contact the Church Office @ 472-8107/8 for more information.
